The León International Balloon Festival (FIG) continues to strengthen its international prestige and ranks among the most important ballooning events in the world. In its 24th edition, the event promises to once again transform the city's sky into a spectacle of colors, music, and unforgettable experiences.
During a presentation held in Monterrey, Nuevo León, León’s municipal president Ale Gutiérrez unveiled the main attractions of this edition and invited families from the region to enjoy the festival, which will take place at the Metropolitan Park of León “Eliseo Martínez Pérez” from November 13 to 16.
This year, 200 hot air balloons will take part, including 30 special figures, with pilots from 25 countries. Among the figures that visitors will be able to admire are Pingüino from Brazil and Bella and Buster from the United Kingdom.
The magnitude of the festival has allowed León to stand out alongside important international aerostation events, such as those held in Albuquerque, United States, and Bristol, United Kingdom. Additionally, its tourism significance was recognized in 2025, when it received the award for Best National Tourism Product during the Mexico Tourism Fair.
Music and entertainment for all tastes
In addition to the traditional balloon launches and family activities, the FIG 2026 will offer a musical program featuring renowned national and international artists.
On Friday, November 13, Los Angeles Azules will have the audience dancing to their greatest hits. On Saturday, November 14, it will be the turn of electronic music with Calvin Harris, Alok and Tyson O’Brien, who will star in The Dream Nite. On the other hand, on Sunday, November 15, Christian Nodal and Xavi will bring the best of Mexican regional music to the stage.
This combination of shows has turned the festival into an experience that goes beyond the aerostation, attracting visitors of all ages and nationalities.
An important boost for tourism and the economy of León
For this edition, it is expected to receive more than 350,000 visitors, which will represent an important opportunity for the tourism, hotel, gastronomic and commercial sectors of the city.
The projections contemplate an economic spillover of approximately 900 million pesos, in addition to the creation of 4,800 jobs, of which 300 will be direct and 4,500 indirect.
During the presentation, authorities from Guanajuato and Nuevo León highlighted the importance of this type of event for strengthening Mexico’s tourism promotion and consolidating links between destinations.
León prepares to receive national and international visitors
As part of the preparations, municipal authorities will implement special operations to prevent, monitor, and provide assistance to attendees, with the participation of security corporations and emergency response teams.
These actions will be complemented by the work of the Tourist Police of León, whose officers are trained to guide and provide support to national and foreign visitors.
Over the course of 24 editions, the International Balloon Festival has become one of the most emblematic events in Guanajuato and an important tourist attraction in Mexico.
From November 13 to 16, 2026, León will once again fill its skies with color, offering four days of experiences that celebrate the magic of flying and reaffirm the city’s place among the top destinations for major international events.
